Which one suits you
You want everything in one account.
Sportway is the only one of the three where we found cricket, horse racing, live casino, slots, fishing games and Aviator together, and you can pay in by iPay or LankaQR from your phone.
You bet mostly on racing.
Betss and STBet both carry a lot of racing, with greyhounds and virtual races as well as horses. See our Betss review and STBet review.
You want to pay in or cash out at a shop.
Betss takes cash deposits and pays withdrawals at Sporting Star shops. Sportway's banking page lists no cash option, and STBet does not publish its payment methods.
You only bet on cricket.
All three cover it, so choose on what else you want.
You played on 1xBet.
Sportway is the closest match, because it has Aviator, which we did not see on Betss or STBet, as well as slots, live casino and fishing games. Our 1xBet page covers the 1xBet block.
The local sites, side by side
Sportway, Betss and STBet are all Sri Lankan, and none of them is on Sri Lanka's block lists. They are not the same kind of site. The STBet column is from our reading of its site on 8 September: when we went back on 25 September, it refused visitors from outside Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka's internet providers have been ordered to block 146 betting sites: 24 on 5 August 2026 and 122 more on 6 August. The orders came from the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission at the request of the Gambling Regulatory Authority, which named the sites as operating without a Sri Lankan licence.
The 24 on the first list:
- 1xBet
- Betway
- 22Bet
- Melbet
- Unibet
- Betfair
- Dafabet
- bet365
- 1win
- Spinbetter
- 10Cric

- Megapari
- Pin-Up
- Stake
- Mostbet

- Betwinner
- Linebet

The second list adds 122 more, among them more of 1xBet's country sites such as 1xbet.lk. If a site on these lists stopped loading for you, that is why: your account and your connection are not the problem.
How we check
We earn a commission when you open a Sportway account through our links, and nothing from Betss or STBet. We read each operator's own pages ourselves, and the date at the top of each page is when we last did. STBet's site refused our visits when we went back, so its details date from 8 September 2026 and its contact details come from its Facebook page. The block lists come from the reports named under Sources. Where we could not see something, we say so.
Sources
The list of 24 blocked sites is from the Ministry of Digital Economy's announcement of 5 August 2026, as published by Newswire. The list of 122 is the Commission's release of 6 August 2026, linked from Ada Derana's report. What Sportway and Betss offer is from our reading of their sites on the date at the top of this page, and STBet's from our reading of stbet.com on 8 September 2026.
