The short version
1xbet.com is one of the 24 betting sites that every Sri Lankan internet provider was ordered to block on 5 August 2026. The order came from the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, acting on a request from the Gambling Regulatory Authority, and the sites were named as operating without a Sri Lankan licence. The next day the Commission blocked 122 more, and that list takes in 1xbet.lk and several of 1xBet's other country sites. Neither list names lk.1xbet.com, the address of 1xBet's Sri Lankan site.
If 1xBet stopped loading for you, that is the reason. Your password is not wrong and your phone is not the problem.
What 1xBet was in Sri Lanka
It was one of the most searched betting brands in Sri Lanka, and by Ahrefs' estimates, search traffic to its Sri Lankan site kept rising through August and September. What it offered Sri Lankan players:
- Cricket. A full cricket book, with betting while the match is on.
- Sinhala. Its Sri Lankan site, lk.1xbet.com, had a full Sinhala edition.
- Aviator. More than half of the Aviator search phrases with over a hundred searches a month in Sri Lanka include 1xBet's name.
What nobody can tell you
Whether money left in a 1xBet account can be taken out. We have found no statement from the Ministry or the Commission about players' balances, and we are not going to guess. Only the operator can answer that.
How long the block lasts. It took effect immediately and no end date was given.
The local sites instead
The local sites were on neither list. Which one suits you depends on what you used 1xBet for. We earn a commission when you open a Sportway account through our links, and nothing from the others.

Sportway is the closest thing to what 1xBet offered. It is a licensed Sri Lankan operator, licence BLT1012, with a sportsbook and its own cricket section, live casino tables, slots, fishing games and crash games from Spribe, the studio that makes Aviator. Deposits are in rupees through iPay, LankaQR, People's Bank, Mastercard, bank transfer and an online gateway. If Aviator is what you miss, this is the one to open.
Betss, the online site of the racing bookmaker Sporting Star, has cricket, a lot of racing and a casino, though we did not see Aviator on it. Our Betss review goes through it.
STBet is the local site Sri Lankans search for most, by Ahrefs' estimates. It is a sportsbook with cricket first and a lot of racing, and on 8 September we found no slots, live casino or Aviator on it. If you only used 1xBet for cricket, it covers that. Our STBet review goes through it.
What we do not cover
Mirror links, new addresses and other ways back onto a blocked site. A site that was blocked once can be blocked again at its next address, and an account you can only reach through a link that keeps changing is not somewhere to keep money.
