Ottneil Baartman is out of the ODI series against Australia with a left hamstring injury picked up in the first-class season opener.
Duan Jansen, with South Africa's second-string side in Namibia, replaces Baartman in the ODI squad.
Kagiso Rabada is also unavailable for the ODIs with a hamstring concern, with his Test availability to be decided nearer the October 9 start.
