Sri Lanka's 25-year-old left-handed middle-order batter Sonal Dinusha has been shortlisted for the ICC Player of the Month award for August.
Sonal Dinusha's performances during India's recently concluded tour of Sri Lanka are said to have earned him the nomination.
In the first Test of that series in Galle, Sonal Dinusha scored 100 runs in the first innings and 84 in the 2nd innings. He then made 103 in the first innings and an unbeaten 133 in the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.
He therefore scored 420 runs across 4 innings in those two Tests, maintaining an average of 140.0. Sonal Dinusha's unbeaten 133 in the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test also became his highest score in a Test innings.
England's Ollie Robinson and Bangladesh's Hasan Mahmud have also been nominated alongside him.
The 32-year-old right-arm medium-pacer Ollie Robinson was nominated for the award following his performances in the 2nd Test against Pakistan. He finished the match with 8 wickets for 35 runs from 27.0 overs, including 11 maidens. It was also the best match performance of his Test career against an opposition.
He also took 8 wickets for 80 runs across the 2 innings of the first match of the same series. He therefore finished the series with 16 wickets for 115 runs.
The 26-year-old right-arm medium-pacer Hasan Mahmud was also nominated after taking 6 wickets for 55 runs in Australia's first innings and 3 wickets for 56 runs in the second innings of the recently concluded Test, finishing with match figures of 9 wickets for 111 runs.
His first-innings figures were the best of his Test career in an innings, while the 9 wickets he claimed across the match also became his best performance in a Test.
