Under its ongoing programme of supporting the development of the game in Associate Member nations, Sri Lanka Cricket has provided the Bahrain cricket team with the playing and training facilities required for a training stint in Sri Lanka, along with support in organising matches.
Accordingly, the Bahrain cricket team stayed in Sri Lanka from 15 September to 1 October 2026 to carry out its training, and during that period also took part in three Twenty20 practice matches organised by Sri Lanka Cricket.
For the Bahrain team's training programme, Sri Lanka Cricket provided grounds, indoor net facilities, bowling machines and a range of other training facilities, as well as the many arrangements needed to stage the practice matches.
To express his gratitude for the support given to the Bahrain team during its stay in Sri Lanka, Bahrain Cricket Federation president Mohammed Mansoor met Sri Lanka Cricket's honourable president Eran Wickramaratne for a cordial discussion.
Sri Lanka Cricket's honourable treasurer, President's Counsel Dinal Phillips, and chief executive officer Ashley de Silva also attended the occasion.
Providing the opportunities and facilities needed to grow the game in Associate Member nations and to make their national teams more competitive is an important part of Sri Lanka Cricket's continuing programme of cooperation.
This training programme conducted by the Bahrain cricket team in Sri Lanka is regarded as another step in that programme of cooperation.
