Lasith Croospulle, Kamindu Mendis, Sineth Jayawardena, Janith Liyanage and Avishka Fernando struck centuries in the final matches of the first round of the Major Club Limited Over Cricket Tournament organised by Sri Lanka Cricket, while Wanuja Sahan recorded the best bowling figures of the day.
In the match between Tamil Union C & AC and CCC, CCC's Lasith Croospulle and Kamindu Mendis not only scored centuries but also shared a double-century partnership.
Lasith Croospulle faced 125 balls and scored 148 runs with 11 fours and 8 sixes, while Kamindu Mendis made 139 from 129 balls with 11 fours and 6 sixes.
Together, they shared a first-wicket partnership of 268 runs from 243 balls.
In the same match, Tamil Union C & AC's Sineth Jayawardena scored 136 runs from 103 balls, with 17 fours and 4 sixes. It was his best innings in 21 List A matches.
Janith Liyanage and Avishka Fernando also struck centuries in the match between Bloomfield C & AC and SSC. Bloomfield C & AC's Janith Liyanage scored 165 runs from 130 balls with 18 fours and 5 sixes. It was the best innings of his List A career.
SSC's Avishka Fernando scored 138 runs from 114 balls in the run chase, hitting 15 fours and 4 sixes.
CCC's Pavan Rathnayake (62 not out), Panadura SC's Oshada Fernando (78), Nugegoda S & WC's Nimesh Vimukthi (52 not out), Ace Capital CC's Ranesh Silva (60 not out), Colts CC's Sangeeth Cooray (85) and Muditha Lakshan (69), Police SC's Nipuna Premaratne (68), Bloomfield C & AC's Asitha Wanninayake (60), and SSC's Nuwanidu Fernando (57) and Nipuna Dhananjaya (69) also scored half-centuries.
Ace Capital CC's Wanuja Sahan recorded the best bowling figures of the day, taking 6 wickets for 34 runs against Nugegoda S & WC.

Following the completion of those matches, CCC and Moors SC from Group A, and Colts CC and SSC from Group B, qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament.
Accordingly, the 1st semi-final between CCC and SSC is scheduled to be played at the NCC Ground in Colombo, while the 2nd semi-final between Moors SC and Colts CC will be held at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo, both on the 07th of this month.
