Pakistan youngsters hit back to level the series

Sri Lanka CricketNews article

Pakistan's Under-17 side registered a 151-run win over Sri Lanka Under-17 in the second match of their one-day series, the young hosts proving too strong on the day. That left the five-match one-day series level at one win apiece.

Sri Lanka, who had won the opening match by 99 runs, could not repeat that performance in the second game, as Pakistan batted first and put together 274 for 9 at the end of their allotted 50 overs.

The standout batter of the Pakistan innings was Muhammad Yousuf, who compiled an excellent century of 117 off 135 balls. His innings included fours and sixes, while Sudais Ahmad made 42. Asan Ahmad and Naveed contributed 26 each to the Pakistan total.

Among the Sri Lankan bowlers, Reshan Solomons took 3 wickets, while Mahiru Kodituwakku and Tharuka Samanjith claimed 2 wickets apiece.

Chasing a target of 275, Sri Lanka were all out for just 123 in 40 overs. Sri Lanka's top scorer was Chenuka Dodangoda, who made 50 off 88 balls. Shashith and Sandaru Malshan got 16 each.

Among the Pakistan bowlers, Fahad Iqbal crippled the Sri Lankan innings with 4 wickets for 24 runs.

Notably, Muhammad Yousuf, who scored the century in this match, had also made 161 runs in the three-day match between the two sides. He has therefore continued to deliver with the bat against the Sri Lankan youth bowlers.

The third one-dayer of the series will be decisive for both sides as they look to take the lead in the series.
